"Benefits setup has been a headache"
Open enrollment has been such a mess for me. The system keeps glitching, support just sends me from one person to another, and my deductions still don’t look right. It really feels like they made it my problem to sort out, even though this should be a simple benefits setup.
"Payroll issues were annoying, then just ridiculous"
At first I figured the wrong paycheck was just a one-time mix-up, no big deal. But then it kept happening, and suddenly I was completely over it. Every fix took forever, and having to chase down my own pay got old really fast...

"Direct deposit has been coming in late"
My paycheck used to show up right on time, but lately my direct deposit has been hitting late. It’s frustrating, especially because there’s no clear explanation from anyone about what’s going on.

"We moved over to paychex thinking the..."
We moved over to paychex thinking the setup would be straightforward, but it was a headache almost right away. Our rep seemed to change every time we needed something, emails sat unanswered for days, and we kept getting asked for the same basic info we had already sent. On top of that, some of the terms and expectations felt like they kept shifting as we went, which made it even more frustrating.
Our first payroll had errors, and instead of getting clear help, we ended up trying to sort out a lot of it ourselves. Maybe the system is fine once everything is finally running, but the onboarding experience left a really bad taste. For us, it just wasn’t worth the stress.
"Works okay, but I wish the fees were clearer"
Paychex has been fine for handling payroll, and the website is easy to get around once you’re used to it. The part that threw me off was some extra fees that showed up later that I wasn’t really expecting. I reached out to support and they did explain what they were for, which helped a little, but I still would’ve felt better knowing about them upfront. It’s not a bad service, I just like feeling reassured that I understand what I’m paying for before charges pop up.

"Tax filing felt impersonal and got messed up"
My taxes were filed incorrectly, and the whole experience felt like there wasn’t a real person actually paying attention to what was going on. I expected more care and follow-up, but it just felt disconnected.

"Wish the pricing was clearer before committing"
The service itself was okay, but I would’ve felt a lot more comfortable if the pricing had been laid out more clearly upfront. I’m cautious about unexpected costs, so not knowing exactly what I might be charged made me hesitant. It worked out fine overall, but clearer pricing would definitely make me more confident using it again.

"Employee self service is honestly a mess"
I use the employee self service portal often and it’s been such a pain. The login seems to break all the time, and when I try to get help, support just sends me in circles instead of actually fixing anything. It gets frustrating realy fast.

"Save your time, the integrations didn’t work"
I tried using the QuickBooks sync and it just never worked right for me. I spent more time trying to fix the integration than actually using it, so save yourself the time if that’s something you need.
"i mean, Paychex Flex keeps acting up"
i mean, it feels like paychex Flex is constantly having issues. Every time I try to use it, something seems to break or not work the way it should

"Tracking time been such a pain"

"From what I remember, dealing with the workers..."
From what I remember, dealing with the workers comp side of things was frustrating. The admin process felt slow and confusing, and I kept getting bounced around on calls instead of getting clear answers. Updates usually came later than expected, and even simple issues seemed to take way too long to fix. Looking back, it was definitely one of the more stressful parts of the whole experience.
"Year-end tax forms turned into a headache"
I started running into problems with Paychex right around the end of December when we were trying to wrap up payroll for the year. The tax forms came in later than expected, and when I finally looked them over in early January, some of the numbers didn’t line up with what we had in payroll.
I spent the next couple of weeks calling support a few different times, every call left me more confused. One person would tell me it was being reviewed, another would say they couldn’t see the issue, and nobody could really give me a clear timeline for when it would be fixed.
By the time filing deadlines were getting closer, it had turned into way more stress than it needed to be. I get that mistakes happen, but for year-end tax forms, I expected the basics to be accurate and the support to be more consistent.

"Not gonna lie, the reports are a mess"
Not gonna lie, I’ve had a really hard time making sense of the analytics. The reports feel confusing and don’t really give me clear answers, which makes it frustrating to use.

"Mostly just annoying to deal with"
I don’t enjoy using the Paychex app at all. Every time I open it, I’m kind of expecting something to go wrong, and usually it does. It loads slowly, kicks me out way too often, and trying to pull up a pay stub can turn into refreshing the screen over and over. The layout doesn’t help either because it feels harder to find things than it should be. Maybe it works fine for some people, but for me it’s been more frustrating than useful, especially for an app that’s really only there so I can check payroll stuff

"Same payroll issue keeps coming back"
I’ve had to contact Paychex multiple times about the same payroll problem, and every time I’m told it’s being looked into. The support reps are polite, which I appreciate, but nothing actually seems to get fixed. I’ve been chasing this for weeks now, and at this point it feels preventable if someone would just follow through and resolve it properly

"Support used to be quicker"
Support used to be a lot better, honestly. I’ve been waiting days and still haven’t gotten a real answer, just the feeling that it’s being dragged out. Frustrating compared to how it used to be

"Canceling was such a pain"
Trying to cancel was way more frustrating than it needed to be. The whole process felt confusing and dragged on, and I was just annoyed by the end of it. Definitley not a great experience.

"I’ve been using Paychex because my job..."
I’ve been using Paychex because my job requires it, it’s frustrating. Something simple like pulling up an old paystub or updating personal info feels like it takes way more clicking around than it should. Sometimes I’m convinced I’m in the wrong section, then it turns out that’s just where they put it, which is somehow both funny and irritating.
The layout isn’t great, especially on mobile, and it feels kind of slow and outdated. I mean, it does eventually get the job done, so I guess that’s something, but I still dread opening it whenever I need to check something. Not the worst thing in the world, but also, yeah, I really don’t enjoy using it.

"Sounded simple at first, then got messy"
Before I signed up, the sales team was super quick to reach out and made everything seem straightforward. But once I was in, the setup process got confusing fast. The instructions weren’t very clear, different people seemed to be giving me different answers, and it took longer than expected to get replies to emails. I kind of got the feeling that sales and onboarding maybe don’t communicate much, but who knows. Either way, I felt like I had to keep chasing them just to figure out basic next steps. Not the best first impression.
